Author Bio
DAVID PRYBIL is a writer-producer with over twenty years of experience in the film business and credits on such well-received films as Saved! (for MGM/UA) and Dancer, Texas (for Sony Pictures). A former creative executive and production-company president, he is a graduate of The University of Michigan, with a JD/MBA from Indiana University, Bloomington.
GOLDEN STATE, his debut novel, was selected for the iUniverse/Barnes & Noble Rising Star program. Throughout the first two years of its publication, it was a mainstay on the Amazon Top Rated Lists, reaching as high as #9 on the Top Rated Literary Fiction List (just behind Flowers for Algernon, and just ahead of Orwell's Animal Farm).
Prybil is currently in final edits on a second novel, titled LOLITAVILLE, set in southern Alabama in the wake of a devastating hurricane on the Gulf Coast and involving the investigation of two murders, one in a FEMA disaster-relief camp, the other on a nearby Army base, which ultimately prove to be linked in shocking ways. On the film front, he recently executive produced the crime drama Out of Exile for Saban Films, and is developing a biopic of the famous film critics Gene Siskel & Roger Ebert, titled At The Movies, which is to be directed by Oscar winner David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Inventing Anna).
He lives in Tarzana, California with his wife Robin, four nearly-adult kids, and two kid-sized dogs.
